Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a condition that causes tingling, numbness and other similar symptoms in the hand and arm, along with weakness in the hand. It is caused by the compression of the nerve located in the carpal tunnel, which is a narrow passageway in the wrist. There are a variety of factors that may cause Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, but the anatomy of your wrist, health problems and repetitive hand motions can contribute to carpal tunnel syndrome as well.

Carpal tunnel Syndrome treatment protocol includes: pain relief through modalities (hot pack, cold pack, ultrasound, electrical stimulation), soft tissue mobilization,  joint mobilizations, ROM (Range of Motion), stretching, strengthening of wrist and upper body,  and ergonomics training. At the root cause of wrist and hand issues is commonly related to shoulder and scapula position. Postural therapy is a great to help with the root cause of the start of the symptoms and prevention of progression or breakdown of other joints.
